The story of Johann Gregor Mendel briefly and entertainingly encompasses his entire life from childhood to the autumn of life: all the pitfalls and peripeties fate has prepared for him, his father's death, monastic service, and above all the basic discovery of the laws of heredity he made while crossing pea lines. When his contribution was misunderstood by his contemporaries, Mendel turned to a number of other natural sciences.

Mash and Peas was a parodic sketch show written by and starring Matt Lucas & David Walliams. Their first television work together, it originally aired on Paramount Comedy 1 and Channel 4 between 1996 and 1997. The episodes were repeated before the channel's relaunch in 1999. The programme is made up of parodies of various television genres, introduced by the childish and incompetent Danny Mash and Gareth Peas. Edgar Wright directed and long-standing collaborator Paul Putner appeared throughout.

At the party Gregor meets Amber, a transatlantic trustafarian who struggles to mask her liberal guilt with pro-bono 'activism.' With Terry offering him a job and Amber offering both material and physical indulgence, Gregor thinks he's landed on his feet...but he hasn't. 'Gregor' is a black comedy where nothing is resolved, no lessons are learned and focusing on a generation who feel they should be able to do anything by right and end up doing nothing by default.
